FAQ's -
Q: WHAT COSTS ARE COVERED BY THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT?
A: The Athletic Department typically pays for items that stay with the school. For example, uniforms and equipment. The Athletic Department purchased new nets, poles and balls for the 2018 Volleyball Season. Uniforms are typically purchased every 2 years for Varsity, with uniforms then rotated down to the JV & Freshman teams.
Q: WHAT IS THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT PARTICIPATION FEE AND WHERE DO I PAY THAT FEE?
A: The $150 participation fee is paid online, or in the Bookstore, once your daughter makes a team at: https://www.susd.org/index.php/departments/susd-finance/susd-online-payments
This payment is made to the Scottsdale Unified School District and goes toward the school district's costs for athletic bus service, officials, etc... The Booster Club does not receive any of these fees.
Q: DOES THE BOOSTER CLUB RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE ADMISSION FEES TO THE VOLLEYBALL GAMES?
A. No, the Booster Club does not receive any of these fees. Admission fees are collected by the Athletic Department, and turned in to SUSD. The District collects admission fees from all six SUSD high schools and then re-distributes the fees evenly among those high schools. The Athletic Department then pays the school's AIA fees, and other expenses.
Q: WHAT COSTS DO THE BOOSTER CLUB COVER?
A: Through Booster Club Membership Fees, Sponsors, and Fundraising, the Booster Club provides financial assistance to the volleyball program for many of the costs that are not paid for by the Athletic Department. Some of what the Booster Club provides and/or coordinates are facility fees for open gyms, game day & tournament meals for players & coaches, backpacks, practice t-shirts, game day t-shirts, locker decorations, senior night, and the end of season awards banquet.
